Rose turns her head to view Fury for a moment, curiousty visible on her face.

"Yeah, that's right, you missed it. I had family in for a short visit."

She snickers and shakes her head. "Of all the times to miss it. I was looking forward to meeting some of your relatives. I was going to throw a dinner party and everything."

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

((Hey, Wolf. Rikali at the castle AND here? Wow, she's good. =P))

Goraq nods. "Everything will turn out fine." He then reaches into his cloak and pulls out a little round device. He speaks into it. "We are ready. Please bring it in." He puts the object back into his cloak and turns to Ayn. "We will be leaving soon. I advise you say good bye now."

Ayn nods, then looks down to Bianca. She says something in Italian, in which Bianca looks up to her and frowns slightly. She hops out of Ayn's arms and clings to her, starting to cry again. A tear rolls down Ayn's cheek as well, but she shakes her head, still speaking softly in Italian. She pats Bianca on the head and turns her towards Goraq. "Take care, little sister.."

Rose looks at Bianca, awed at her friend's upsetness. ((that's a word...right?))

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Goraq steps outside and pokes his head back into the cafe. "They're here." He turns around and steps inside the vehicle. Bianca comes out of the cafe and does the same. They wave off Ayn and then head to Pasadga.

Ayn 11-26-2003 09:55 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Ayn returns the wave, then heaves a sigh, her shoulders drooping. She had just given away the last person she truely cared about.. She feels the need to be alone for a while, so she quietly slips out of the cafe, disappearing into the nearby forest.

Alinos watches quietly for a moment before turning on the tv. "Brave kid, sorry I can't say your troubles are over.."

Goraq looks over at Bianca. She doesn't look like she wants to talk but Goraq makes an effort to anyway. "Ya know, the transportation being provided here for us was only to be used for the new Queen. So this is the first time it's being used." Bianca shrugs. "Well, you won't be here too long. Pasadga shouldn't be too far away now."

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Deeply absorbed in a magazine this time, Rogue doesn't see the figure enter the cafe at first. The new person is a woman of about 5'8", and has extremely bright green eyes. She wears a bright red cloak, and her hair is black, very straight and long, reaching to her waist. The only thing that appears strange about her is a set of dark purple triangliar tatoos on both sides of her face, just under the cheek bones.
She stands in from of Rogue and patiently waits to be noticed.

Rogue looks up and sees this new person...and all her scales turn a much paler shade of purple.

"I see you've recognized me, dragon."

Fury Three 11-26-2003 10:48 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Fury overhears the stranger's words and turns to look. "I'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say that's a bad thing." "Woah, if you're here to pick a fight, could you take it outside? Cafe's taken enough abuse for one day."

Silver Rogue 11-26-2003 10:57 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

The stranger turns her head to look at Fury and sends him a soothing smile.

"I don't think there will be any fighting at this point...it all depends on my good friend, Rogue here."

Rogue straightens her dragon body up in her chair, and clears her throat. She puts on a fake smile, trying to calm things down a bit.

"I wouldn't worry, Fury. She's a....an old friend."

Gale 11-26-2003 10:58 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Alinos looks up from the tv and looks at Fury. "Since when has that worked?"

Fury Three 11-26-2003 11:33 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

He shrugs, realizing Alinos' point. "I have no idea. That's how I know something's up here... I'm not going to push my luck for one day, though."

Gale 11-26-2003 11:38 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Alinos nods. He searches for the remote. After a moment he realizes he is (technically) an angel, and beyond mortal items. He changes the tv telepathically. "Your eldest brother has been active as of late, but you're elder brother, Nyx, I have not sensed him in a while. You three are quite the mystery. Do you even remember your childhood, if you had one?"

Silver Rogue 11-26-2003 11:41 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Rogue, I think perhaps we should talk in private...or at least semi private in this place. Go to the back corner of this...crummy place. There is much for you to tell me before I pay you back. Get going."
Quietly Rogue gets off of her chair unto all fours and weaves her way through the wreck of the cafe and heads to a far cornor. The stranger calmly follows, contantly looking out of the window, as if checking for something.

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

It had only been a few hours, but Ayn trudges in the cafe, her hands stuffed in her pockets. She didn't seem phased by the visit from the mysterious stranger; she was only interested in getting something to drink and getting out of here.

Silver Rogue 11-28-2003 09:22 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Rogue slowly melds to human before she sits down, and the stranger sits down at the same table, directly opposite her.

"Now what is it you want, Kim? I thought I'd gotten away from you. Why can't you just leave me in peace?" Rogue asked, nervously eyeing the window as well. The sun was still up for at least a little while...
"Oh, I think you know what I came for, Rogue. You remember..."

Rogue did remember. During her life growing up, almost 600 years ago it was...she had met this stranger named Kim. Kim was a good friend for a long period of time, but she also had a problem. She was a gargoyle. They were rare even back then, but she hated her nigh-time curse that was considered a gift by her people. When the sun went down, and the moon rose, gargoyles became stone. While in this state, nothing can destroy them, and the gargoyles were always grateful to sleep in saftey, even though most always awoke to find their villages ransacked.
As the years past, Rogue never would have guessed how bitter Kim became because of what she was. All sorts of things happened in the night that couldn't be prevented, and Kim hated not being able to stop these things when they happened.
Then something happened...Kim had been standing in her village with the rest of the gargoyles that lived there, tightly holding family jewels or anything else of value that was small enough, watching the sun go down. For the first time, Kim watched the moon rise...for some reason she hadn't turned to stone, and she had looked about her in fear, afraid something was wrong. An old hag ventured from the shadows then, grinning.
"You are probably wondering why everyone else is stone and for the first time, you are not, eh? It's not permanent, I can garuntee you that, for it was my doing. Keeping you in this state even now is draining my power, and in a few minutes I will die unless I let go of my hold on you and allow you to change."
"And why are you doing this, old hag?" Kim asked, still amazed at how beautiful the night sky was.
"There is a way to make this permanent. I can give you this vial, a vial I have created myself after watching you're suffering. You could hide your distaste of your position in life from your friends and family, but not from me. If you take a drop of your own blood, and a drop of somebody elses and mix them in this vial, you must then make the other person drink the mixture, thus passing the curse to them. For the rest of your life, gargoyle, you shall be free of the stone curse...but, you can't do this with just anybody's blood.
Wherever you can, take blood samples from every person, every creature you come across, and put it in the vial. If the blood then turns green, that is the sign that the mixture will then work. What do you say, hmm? All I ask in return is what you're holding in your hand, that necklace you wear by day and keep safe in your stoney hands at night."
Kim treasured her necklace, which held over a hundred diamonds and had been given to her by her mother, but it was a cheap price to pay...she traded it for the vial. Kim pricked the creatures in the forest and people she came across, willingly or not, and could never find a match. But one day, she pricked Rogue, never answering her angry questions as to why she would do such a thing, and the blood turned green the instant it was dropped in the vial. In her excitement, she told Rogue everything then, and after dropping her own blood in, begged Rogue to drink it. Rogue slapped the vial away with one paw, and told Kim never to bother her again. They never did see each other after that, and Kim never found another match...so Kim researched and learned and trained in the magical arts her people were best at...

"I can't believe you wanted to do this to your own friend," Rogue snarled, standing. "Well, it doesn't matter now, because I will always be stronger then you."
"Oh, but you're wrong, Rogue, so wrong.."

Ayn gets herself a glass of water, then sits at the bar, her head propped up lazily on one hand.

Alinos pours himself a gin, keeping an eye on Silver Rouge and her "friend." He then notices Ayn and turns to her for a moment. "You alright, kid?"

Ayn 11-28-2003 10:41 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Ayn shrugs slightly. "Other than being completely torn, I'm all right.."

Gale 11-28-2003 10:42 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Alinos gulps down his drink and puts down the empty glass. "It took a strong person to do what you did. No wonder you're Gaia."

Ayn 11-28-2003 10:45 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

She looks away, not wanting Alinos to see the tears shining in her eyes. "I'd give anything to not be..."

Gale 11-28-2003 10:49 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Alinos frowned. Despite his usual indiffrence to mortals, he did feel rather bad when the good-hearted ones had to go through pain. "Now maybe you understand why I rebelled with my brothers...all those millenia ago..." Alinos in turn went silent. Not sure weither to elaborate.

Silver Rogue 11-28-2003 10:55 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Do you think I haven't been busy these last 400 years? I've been learning things, Rogue, wonderful things about myself. I can do magic now too, like you."

Rogue laughs, still nervous because she senses something wrong.. "It doesn't mean you can defeat me. I know more then just fire now, dear. I could tear you body apart with the elements."

"Elements, you say? But could you tear my mind apart, as well? I've not only built my defenses against your type of magic, but have learned a whole different kind! Tell me, Rogue. Is there anyone that you love in this...place? If you're still the same, I know you'd do anything to protect those you care about..."

Sweating now, Rogue only let's out a slight laugh. "Me? I've left my family years ago. I have nobody I care about." She thinks of her daughter, Savon, out playing.

"I know when I'm being lied to, my dear friend. Just give yourself up to me now, accept your fate, or face the consequences...

Ayn 11-28-2003 10:57 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

She bows her head, her face in her hands. Her shoulders shake slightly in concealed sobs, but she quickly regains her composure. She stands abruptly. "Nobody deserves to suffer at the cost of my own safety. I must leave here.."

Gale 11-28-2003 11:00 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"They'll follow you... You know they will. You're gonna have to face them. Until then everything you love is in jeopardy." Alinos pours himself another glass, watch Rouge as he talks. "You know that, sorry to be blunt."

Ayn 11-28-2003 11:02 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

She turns and stares at the angel through tear-stained eyes. She then heaves a sigh and sits back down. "You're right.. If they want me dead that much, then they can have me."

Gale 11-28-2003 11:05 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"I'm worried kid, you manage to make it out when you only have to fight one of them....but...if they, by some miracle, joined together... Don't forget you have friends, they'll help you. You don't have to carry your burdens alone."

Ayn 11-28-2003 11:09 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

She snorts at Alinos' last comment. "There is no one else who has the same troubles as I, why should I force my burden on to them?"

Silver Rogue 11-28-2003 11:10 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Well, we'll just have to dig it out of you, won't we?
Kim pulls off her cape, revealing two folded up leathery wings and a dark purple tail. She stands now, staring at Rogue intensley, but Rogue can't look away. Suddenly, her mouth is dry, the room darkens just the a little, and Savon appears in the middle of the room. Her small dragon body is covered in purple scales, like Rogue, and she looks at her with innocense. Suddenly a beam cracks in the roof, and caves in on the little hatchling, and Rogue can actually see her crushed and bloodied. But Rogue can't move to help her, she can't talk to call out to her...she is frozen in fear. All she can do is cry and whimper. But just as suddenly as it happened, the room was bright again, and the section of roof she saw cave in was in fact, still intact. Savon had never really been there at all...

"What did you just do to me...?" Rogue whispered.

"Wonderful, isn't it?" Kim responded, bending down to pick up her cape. "So that's your weakness, eh? Who was that little dragon? I see she resembles you almost perfectly...I forgot to mention the purple is quite a nice touch."

Gale 11-28-2003 11:13 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"You won't force the burden, they'd share..." Alinos notices the darkening room and turns from Ayn to Rouge and the stranger. He almost feels the need to act, but he is unsure, and decieds to watch for now.

Ayn 11-28-2003 11:16 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"They'd share....? Who would share? I certainly can't think of anyone..." She glances absent-mindedly at the dragons, but otherwise pays them no heed. She had learned long ago not to meddle in the affairs of the creatures.

Silver Rogue 11-28-2003 11:19 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Like I said, give yourself up. Somebody like you could live with the curse, you're old. I'm still young. Let me see the night sky again! Let me be free of worry about my home when I sleep, of things I hold dear!"

Rogue, still shaking, manages to laugh. "Never! I won't take what is yours, just because you're not happy with it! The rest of your kind has accepted who they are, why can't you? And yes, you are young, young and immature. You can't even handle your own faults."

Gale 11-29-2003 02:43 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Alinos, who switches between watching the Dragon and talking to Ayn keeps his eyes on the back of the cafe as he talks. "Why are the good-hearted always so hard on themselves? Do you believe in God?"

Ayn 11-29-2003 02:45 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"I assume there is one, but I'm afraid that my own existence makes me skeptical about His goodness."

Gale 11-29-2003 02:49 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

"Don't I know it..." Alinos realizes that his personal experience isn't to helpful, so he continues to try to be un-biased. "I'm not sure what God wants, but we all seem to have a purpose (like it or not). I was told we find peace when we understand our purpose. If so, I'm still searching. But what about you, kid?"

Ayn 11-29-2003 02:53 PM

Re: Tri-Link's Cafe V

Ayn shrugs lightly. "Somehow, I think that my only purpose is to give proof that the Apocalypse is upon us.."
